Chai Applesauce

Tasty spiced applesauce fast!

Applesauce is one of those wonderful food from your childhood that you couldn't get enough of... until you had enough.

As adults, we don't eat applesauce as much as we should/could. After all, it tastes like, well, apples. A little sweet, but a bit boring.

This "recipe" isn't really a recipe. It's more a like a quick cheat to change the flavor of your applesauce easily.

If you want to know how to make applesauce, Joanne and Adam at Inspired Taste offer a great recipe and a video.

Chai Applesauce

  1. Buy a jar of applesauce. Unsweetened, whole apples. It should have one ingredient - apples.
  2. Add about 1/2 teaspoon of chai spice per cup of applesauce.
  3. Stir well.
  4. Leave in the refrigerator for 2 hours or overnight in a sealed container.

That's it!

No big mess to clean. No hot kitchen. Just tasty spiced applesauce.

You can use almost any spice you like - cayenne, cinnamon, cardamom, even black pepper. Experiment to see what you like!
